Shares jumped nearly 9% in mid-afternoon trading Monday after Syntroleum Corporation announced that its renewable fuel joint-venture Dynamic Fuels, in partnership with Solazyme Inc., has been awarded a major renewable fuel contract with the U.S Navy.
Two European airlines will soon be flying the friendly skies with recycled cooking oil. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Thomson Airways will be using bio-kerosene to power some of their aircrafts.
Even as some analysts are predicting possible doom-and-gloom for clean fuels in the wake of the U.S. Senate's recent vote to eliminate ethanol incentives, those in the business of transportation fuels are marching ahead in the face of uncertainty.
