Pattern Energy Group has secured approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) for a 20-year power purchase agreement with with San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) for wind energy to be produced at a new wind farm in Imperial Valley, California.

A new 97.6-megawatt battery-storage wind power facility is now online in West Virginia. The installation represents the world's largest lithium-ion-based wind energy storage project and the biggest advanced battery clean energy project in the United States.

The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission said June 15 it had approved a 20-year contract for Maui Electric Company to purchase 21 megawatts (MW) of wind power from Sempra Generation’s Auwahi Wind project on the Ulupalakua Ranch in southeastern Maui. The approval also included a determination that Maui Electric could build an above-ground transmission connection to its main local grid line.
