Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Renewable Energy Leader's Forum.

Every week this Forum will feature leading executives from the cleantech and renewable power industries.

These leaders will share information about their companies and products, while also expressing thoughts on the energy industry as a whole and what the future has in store.

When the stock market was declining through mid and late 2008 and early 2009, great buying opportunities were everywhere. But who knew the bottom would be the first week of March 2009.

If you dallied a week, you missed 10% of the recovery. So nearly everybody missed the bottom.

Imagine flying the friendly skies in an electric and solar-powered aircraft? The Elektra One, from German aircraft engineering and designing company PC-Aero, is getting closer to making that scenario a reality.

Touted as the world’s largest solar-powered boat, the US$16 million Türanor PlanetSolar catamaran was recently lowered into the Baltic Sea by crane.

After 14 months of construction in Germany, the sleek, white catamaran will begin months of rigorous testing which should be completed by summer’s end.
