While electric vehicles (EVs) become more affordable and mainstream, one persistent issue some current and potential EV owners face is how and where to charge the car’s lithium-ion battery.

Renewable energy power system manufacturer PowerVerde, Inc. (OTC: PWVI) says it has completed testing its advanced waste heat recovery system known as the "Liberator," which it plans to start shipping to its European distributor this week.

Although electric vehicles (EVs) provide numerous benefits, running out of electricity and being stranded on the road is a concern for some potential EV owners. The American Automobile Association (AAA) recently announced a new project that may help alleviate that obstacle and offer peace of mind as well.

In a sharp reversal of policy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced the country will move to phase out all nuclear power by 2022.

The decision comes after the Ethics Commission for Security Energy, which Merkel set up to review nuclear power following the Fukushima disaster in Japan, recommended all 17 of Germany's reactors be shut down permanently.
