A new agreement between home appliance manufacturers and energy efficiency organizations will result in better efficiency standards for refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, clothes dryers, dishwashers and room air conditioners.

There has been some controversy lately about American companies using Recovery Act money to buy wind turbines made in other countries, especially China. Perhaps not coincidentally, the Department of Energy recently released its first study addressing the question of how much wind equipment is imported.
