The United States Federal 2012 Fiscal Year Budget has yet to be signed into law. The proposed budget is currently stuck in the U.S. Senate which is combing through President Obama's proposal.  Making a case to stave off further cuts United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa P. Jackson addressed the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public works to outline the agency's needs and how President Obama's proposed budget already requires the EPA to make difficult cuts.

A program that had been established five years ago by the North Dakota Farmers’ Union (NDFU) to issue carbon credits to farmers has been left without the necessary funds thanks to the failure of the U.S. Congress to pass a climate bill this year.

In spite of all evidence to the contrary, a majority of Republicans in America believe there is no scientific evidence to prove that climate change is happening, or that it is being exacerbated by human activities.

Less than 48 hours after winning a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, the new Republican (GOP) leaders have announced that as part of their new agenda, they will be holding extensive hearings and investigations into the “scientific fraud” behind global warming.

After almost two years of stalled efforts, President Obama announced that he will be making climate change legislation one of his administration’s top priorities next year.

Former Vice President Al Gore claims in a recent blog post that the failure of the U.S. Senate to pass legislation to curb greenhouse gases (like the American Power Act) is already costing the country billions of dollars.
