Battling surging energy demand and dependence on foreign oil, Pakistan has begun to tap its estimated 50,000-megawatt wind energy potential. Late last year, Pakistan signed an agreement with The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES) to build a 150 MW wind power plant in the Gharo Corridor.

Pakistan has signed an agreement with U.S.-based energy company The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) to build a wind power plant with a generating capacity of 150 megawatts (MW).
