American Reinvestment and Recovery Act

Montana Senator Max Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has proposed extensions to renewable energy funding programs which are poised to expire at the end of the month.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced up to $32 million in Recovery Act funding to modernize the existing hydropower infrastructure in the U.S. -- thereby increasing energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Renewable Energy companies have had to rely heavily on government regulations and funds to remain afloat through these tight financial times, but what happens when economic stimulus funding runs out, and government regulations expire?

 

As part of the American Recovery and Investment Act, Semprius, Inc., has been awarded $500,000 for the development of solar-energy technology. The Durham-based semiconductor technology company made the announcement earlier this week.

The U.S. Department of Energy announced today that it will giving $304 million USD to Georgia, New York, and Illinois to expand weatherization assistance programs in these states.
