With CO2 emissions predicted to balloon for Australia, the Labor and Greens political parties are set to push a Carbon Tax bill through parliament in hopes of stemming the tide. 

With the formation of a new coalition government, it appears as though a national climate bill will be put back on the table in Australia.

Australia's Greens Party, which is "dedicated to promoting a fair, prosperous and sustainable future," won 12% of the vote in national elections, an accomplishment fueling optimism that the island nation may be ready to ramp up funding for renewable energy projects and cut carbon emissions.

The Government of Victoria, Australia's second-most populous state, has announced plans to introduce a feed-in tariff program to boost its electricity supply from solar power to 5% by 2020.
