According to a report  from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, Enbridge staff ignored alarms for 17 hours after the pipeline ruptured and poured a massive amounts of oil (equivalent to 20,000 barrels) into the Kalamazoo River.

In the shadow of the massive BP Gulf of Mexico disaster, there is another similar - albeit smaller in scale - disaster unfolding on the Kalamazoo River in Michigan.
