green architecture

There has been no news story as big as British Petroleum's offshore oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  For over a week the world's current events have been fixated on the evolving details of the story.

The spill could well be the worst ever, and this disaster is affecting multiple industries, in particular the renewable energy sector.

Buildings are one of the world's largest consumers of energy and, as a result, one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases.

So, green building--architectural design based on improving the energy efficiency of a building throughout its entire life span--has become increasingly en vogue.

A dream team of talented and renowned designers, architects, artists, environmental and technology professionals from near and far are coming together for the upcoming World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.
