Hywind Inaugurates World’s First Full-Scale Deepwater Floating Wind Turbine

On Sept. 8, seven miles from Norway’s southwestern coast, near the island of Karmoey, in water 721 feet deep, Norwegian energy giant StatoilHydro (NYSE:STO) inaugurated the world’s first deepwater, full-scale floating wind turbine called Hywind.
