The United States Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that construction has begun on an industrial carbon capture and storage (ICCS) facility in Decatur, Illinois.

In the United States three industrial carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects have been chosen to receive up to US$612 million in Recovery Act funding, which will also be matched by up to $368 million of private investment.
