Taking a stand on what has emerged as one of the hottest political issues in the United States, President Obama has announced his administration will not approve the Keystone XL Pipeline, which would transport oil from Alberta's tar sands to refineries in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Scottish government recently announced that it would aid in the creation of 22,000 new green jobs in the next four years.

The jobs will span manufacturing, scientific research, and innovation in both the renewable energy and carbon industries.

Government financing and new tax incentives are part of a new plan that President Obama announced today to make buildings more energy efficient. The plan is seen as a way to encourage job growth in addition to reducing energy costs.
