A duo of Republican Senators are quietly working to undo legislation that prevents oil companies from acquiring tar sands from Canada that are known to produce even worse emissions than conventional oil.

After more than a year of talking about the idea of having a comprehensive energy reform bill, Senators John Kerry (D – MA) and Joe Lieberman (I – CT) have introduced The American Power Act, a reform package that boasts fresh ideas for reforming American energy policy, cleaning the environment, and creating jobs.

The European Renewable Energy Council has released RE-thinking 2050 [pdf], a new report which outlines an avenue that would allow the European Union (EU) to be powered completely by renewable energy by 2050.

 

"Green economy" is a term that has become increasingly popular --  heads of state, economists, businesses, and the media all use the term broadly -- but how feasible is its creation?

 

 

Clean energy policy is starting to heat up again in the United States, and the American wind industry is aiming to make sure these legislative discussions turn into progressive action.

 

Earlier this year, the United Kingdom passed feed-in tariff guarantees for owners of small-scale renewable energy systems -- 5-megawatts or less.  However, one of the factors the scale of rebate is dependent on is when the system was installed, which has left more than a few Britons irked.
