A new report from Verdantix, an independent research firm, has found that large companies in the United Kingdom will spend US$5.3 billion on climate change and sustainability initiatives this year.

 

Earlier this year, the United Kingdom passed feed-in tariff guarantees for owners of small-scale renewable energy systems -- 5-megawatts or less.  However, one of the factors the scale of rebate is dependent on is when the system was installed, which has left more than a few Britons irked.

 

Last year, the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer, Vestas Wind Systems (CPH:VWS), missed its full year revenue targets by about 500 million euro and watched its shares slide.

Britain will introduce a whole suite of feed-in tariffs for renewable energy in April, including a tariff no other jurisdication has created before.

 

No longer a moniker for enviro-friendly jewelry and accessories, Eco Bling has now been attached to the unnecessary domestic usage of home solar panels and wind turbines. At least by the UK's Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE).
