Environment Chief says US must lead the world on clean technology

During a trip to Paris this week, Lisa Jackson, the Administrator for the US Environmental Protection Agency said that her country should, " take the lead on clean energy technology, recession or no."
In an interview with Associated Press, Jackson made bold statements on the need for the United States to shift the American mindset and commit to taking a leading role in curbing its own pollution and assist impoverished nations in dealing with the inevitable effects of climate change.
Strong words on the issue of renewable technology and greenhouse gas redcutions have become commonplace amongst leaders in the Obama administration. Yesterday, President Obama's Energy Secretary, Dr. Stephen Chu attended a climate change conference that issued a memoradum stating that, "a new global deal on emissions expected at the UN conference on climate change in Copenhagen in December was urgently needed."
