Oil and Gas Industry Has the Worst Public Image in America

When the public views your industry with less regard than bankers, lawyers, and government officials, there is serious reason for concern.

The latest Gallup poll has found the oil and gas industry is the least popular business sector in America.  For the second year in a row, the oil and gas industry has scored the most negative overall view by Americans. 

In a survey which asked participants to say whether their overall view of a particular business sector is very positive, somewhat positive, neutral, somewhat negative, or very negative, the oil and gas industry came out last.  Its net positive (positive minus negative, in percentage points) was -39, placing it two percentage points behind the federal government.
