"Operation Top Kill," BP's latest attempt to stop tens-of-thousands oil pumping into the Gulf of Mexico is underway.

1:00 pm (pacific time): saw a large burst of brown blew up in front of the screen. Assuming this is the mud they're pumping down there. - Kevin
1:14 pm: seems to be a huge cloud of of particles and a huge burst of oil and stuff.
1:38 pm: large burst of white clouds across the bottom of the screen.
1:45 pm: is it just me or is there noticeably less oil pumping out of that pipe?
1:58 pm: I've emailed someone at the Joint Command Center to ask why the time stamp on the video is off - says that it's 08:32:37
2:09 pm: camera switched to a whole other shot I haven't seen showing multiple spouts of a thick brown substance gushing out. What the heck is that a shot of?
3:18 pm: The new media liaison at the joint operations center confirmed that this video is live, he is looking into the "interesting question" of the time stamp.
3:22pm: BP's live feed of the oil spill has a different camera on a different ROV and is showing these pretty intense shots of oil or some other brown fluid pumping out of mulitple holes.
9:35 pm: BP exec Doug Suttles says that what we're seeing is mostly drilling mud now. But we'll know that Operation Top Kill is sucessful when we see it stop flowing.
