White House Hosts First Environmental Justice Forum

In the wake of the Cancun Climate Conference the United States Environmental Protection Agency announced that the White House will hold its first ever Environmental Justice Forum.
The White House will host environmental leaders, officials from state, local and tribal governments and feature heads of eight federal U.S. agencies including: Nancy Sutley, Chair, White House Council on Environmental Quality, Lisa P. Jackson, Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Ken Salazar, Secretary, U.S. Department of Interior and Steven Chu, Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy.
The forum will engage the participants in a conversation focusing on President Obama administration's "commitment to ensuring that overburdened and low-income communities have the opportunity to enjoy the health and economic benefits of a clean environment".
The day long event, which kicks off with a session titled Green Jobs, Clean Energy, will be held December 15, 2010.
