Senator Harry Reid (Nev. D), today proposed a federal role in creating power lines to carry renewable energy across the country. Hoping to encourage renewable energy growth in the United States, Reid called on the creation of green policies to be a 'top national priority'.
Plans to install new green energy transmission systems would be green lighted by the president by declaring 'renewable energy zones' in areas that don't have an existing high voltage power structure but hold significant potential in generating their energy from renewable sources like solar and wind power.
