The project was a joint venture between the engineering company PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekin), Sumitomo Corporation, the state-owned power company, PT PLN, and PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy. Also, the Asia Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) provided funding for the project. ADB gave $28 million USD, and JBIC gave $36 million USD in funding for the geothermal power plant.
