Hertz Continues Ambitious Sustainability Plans

The Hertz Corporation (NYSE: HTZ), one of the world’s largest rental car companies in the world, announced that it will undertake its first phase of installing solar electric systems at its rental locations, starting with sixteen locations across the United States.

In December of last year, Hertz unveiled ambitious plans to become the first US rental company to offer electric vehicles as part of their rental fleet. They currently have agreements with several major car companies to provide hybrids, electric and Smart cars.

Furthering their efforts to become a sustainable corporation, this latest move by Hertz is an internal step to improve the efficiency of its operations and round out a plan to integrate "sound environmental practices with pro-consumer service, efficiency and growth strategies."
