At the climate-change talks in Durban, South Africa, energyNOW! Chief Correspondent Tyler Suiters sits down with UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres.
Figueres says there's "no public support" in the U.S. for greenhouse gas reduction targets and that is preventing American officials from agreeing to a legally binding climate-change treaty.
"What needs to happen there is a major investment in awareness-raising among the U.S. population." Figueres says, "this is not a problem of the future and this not a problem of somebody else. This is a 'today’ problem and this is a problem for the United States as well as for other countries."
